New York Fashion Week: Cushnie Fall/Winter Fashion Show 2019/20

For her last collection Carly Cushnie recreates and reverses Paul Poiret’s famous 20th-century drapes, particularly his famous Japanese-inspired silhouettes. Also the angular forms of ikebana (the Japanese art of floral arrangement) and the geometric folds combine in the collage series called “Shadowplay” by artist Nicola Kloosterman.

Deep shades of purple, navy blue and burgundy topped the set, all in sync with this small tribute that Carly wanted to pay to Poiret.
